I bought the Matilda cake from Onyx Hive for my mum’s 72nd birthday on 11 October, and it was honestly the best chocolate cake I’ve had. Super moist, rich, and just really well made. This was my first time ordering from Onyx Hive, for my dad's 90th birthday. Usually when a cake looks this good, you brace yourself for disappointment. This one exceeded my expectations.
The Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake had the airbrushed finish and glossy shine. There's an option to upload a photo, but there's no point: it looked exactly as advertised. Truly an achievement. The tempered chocolate was top quality. The dark chocolate mousse was perfect: neither too soft nor too firm, and not too sweet. The sponge was moist and light, not heavy or buttery. Everyone at the party raved about it.
Dante makes everything himself, from sourcing to baking to delivery. He confirmed the day before, arrived within his window, and was professional and friendly throughout. I'd order from him again without hesitation.
